Global Warming crowd's data denial is hilarious

Why bother to collect data? Global warming proponents love to use the label “denier" to describe people who disagree with them. Unfortunately for society, it is the global warming crowd that is in denial. Collectively they are glossing over the significance of SURFACE TEMPERATURE data that completely refutes their theories.

Apparently the global warming movement’s avoiding discussions of the actual TEMPERATURE DATA has reached the “hilarious” stage. And it seems that an MIT scientist has finally had enough of the way the UN’s climate bureaucracy has turned into a hapless grant-seeking propaganda machine.

“I think that the latest IPCC report has truly sunk to level of hilarious incoherence,” Dr. MIT’s Richard Lindzen said to Climate Depot. “They are proclaiming increased confidence in their models as the discrepancies between their models and observations increase.”

Lindzen’s criticism stems from the fact that the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (I.P.C.C.) says the reason why the Earth has not warmed at all in the past 15 years is because the heat was absorbed by the ocean.

“Their excuse for the absence of warming over the past 17 years is that the heat is hiding in the deep ocean,” Lindzen said. “…….this is simply an admission that the models fail to simulate the exchanges of heat between the surface layers and the deeper oceans. However, it is this heat transport that plays a major role in natural internal variability of climate, and the IPCC assertions that observed warming can be attributed to man depend crucially on their assertion that these models accurately simulate natural internal variability,” Lindzen continued. “Thus, they now, somewhat obscurely, admit that their crucial assumption was totally unjustified.”

The fawning anti-fossil fuel crowd does not care about data, predictability, or other scientific processes. The reason so-called scientists are afraid to publicly concede there has been an absence of global warming for more than fifteen years, which is completely contrary to all of their dire predictions fifteen years ago, might start to jeopardize billions in future government grants to “study” global warming.

No need to worry. Many Western governments don't care about the contradictory data either. Apparently the Associated Press has obtained documents that show both the Obama administration and some European governments are pressuring UN climate scientists to sidestep any emphasis on the flat temperature data and other important facts.

Here is a quote from the AP: “Germany called for the reference (by the IPCC) to the slowdown to be deleted, saying a time span of 10-15 years was misleading in the context of climate change, which is measured over decades and centuries. Funny is the global warming alarmists didn't mention suggest it might take longer when they predicted calamity by now back in 1998. The U.S. government also urged the authors (at the IPCC) to include the ‘leading hypothesis’ that the reduction in warming is linked to more heat being transferred to the deep ocean.”

To continue to call this science is comical to real scientists like Lindzen. “In attributing warming to man, they fail to point out that the warming has been small, and totally consistent with there being nothing to be alarmed about,” MIT’s Lindzen said. “It is quite amazing to see the contortions the IPCC has to go through in order to keep the international climate agenda going.”

Actually it is not amazing. The climate change crowd is milking the taxpayers. They have allies who love socialism. They go hand in hand. Neither global warming nor socialism can be justified by science. But there is alot of money to be made milking the taxpayers for both causes.
