Racing Fever

Clandestine
We arrived home from our four week excursion. We saw a portion of fourteen different states. It was a good time but we are happy to be home. We spent the bulk of the time in Maryland just outside of Baltimore.

Luxury
Just before we left New Mexico, American Pharoah won the Kentucky Derby. In mid-May he stopped off in Baltimore and won the Preakness. And yesterday, he won the Belmont. The last time a horse swept all three races was 1978, the year we were married. Little did we know back then how difficult it would be for another horse after Affirmed to win the Triple Crown.

Contradiction
Speaking of horses, on the way home we got word that all three of our horses were going into training in Ruidoso. Our wonder girl Contradiction got a clean bill of health on her injured right leg. Her last X-Rays showed no trace of the hairline fracture that appeared in February.

Both of our two year-olds (Clandestine and Luxury), are now ready for some serious training. Hope springs eternal for our final three equine charges. We are hoping to spend some time in Hobbs this fall winning races.
